Commercial trainee responsibilities include:

• Experience an introduction to the overall business and start to speak to farmers, get a feel for the market;
• Start to leart the markets, data analysis, reporting, visits to clients, attend trade events;
• Understand the process of logistics, booking haulage, vessel management and planning;
• Understand the workings of storage facility, commodity rotation and management health and safety;
• Visits to Rotterdam and learn about wider business and exchange of information, in-house workshops Legal, Quality, Finance, Risk, Research;
• Activities related to our agribusiness.

What we look for:

• University Bachelor or Master degree in Financial/ Economics, Mathematics, Business Management or similar;
• 0-3 years’ working experience and/or an interest in agribusiness;
• Relevant internship/work experience, preferably in the Commodity Trading Industry;
• Willing to travel and to work temporarily abroad across the Europe region(e. g. Poland, Hungary, Rotterdam);
• Has a driver and open attitude;
• Proactive and has commercial drive;
• Communicative and is able working under pressure;
• Good IT skills;
• Fluent in English(spoken and written).

Main goal of the Commercial Trainee program is to gain knowledge and working experience of the commercial part within Viterra, working in several departments for a period of 18-24/36 months, supported by a mentor and buddy, an education program, an international rotation. All in order to be able to start in a position as Junior Trader, Junior Marketeer, Research Analyst, Farm/Origination Trader.
