SUNEL Group is seeking an experienced “Design Engineer” to join our team in Bucharest, Romania.
As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects by coordinating with the Design and Construction site teams. Your efforts will contribute to client satisfaction and the overall success of our projects.
Requirements:
- Analyze project requirements and technical specifications to define design criteria.
- Organize and coordinate the design process for photovoltaic (PV) parks.
- Prepare PV panel layouts and equipment placement drawings using AutoCAD or BricsCAD.
- Perform energy yield and simulation studies (knowledge of PVsyst is considered an advantage).
- Prepare technical specifications (RFQs) for equipment suppliers in collaboration with the Procurement Department.
- Develop electrical design documentation for MV and LV installations (technical reports, calculations, drawings, specifications).
- Prepare single-line diagrams, layout drawings, cable routing plans, earthing and lightning protection systems.
- Perform load flow, short-circuit, voltage drop, and protection coordination studies.
- Ensure compliance with ANRE regulations, Romanian standards, and applicable international standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (civil, mechanical, SCADA) throughout all design phases.
- Provide technical support during permitting, procurement, and construction phases.
- Review and validate technical documentation received from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Participate in technical meetings with clients, consultants, and authorities; clarify project requirements internally as needed.
- Support project scheduling and ensure timely delivery of design milestones.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation for tenders.
- Provide technical support to site engineers and subcontractors.
- Availability for site visits when required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (e. g. , Power Engineering, Electrotechnics, Energy Engineering, or similar technical disciplines).
- Minimum ANRE III certification (mandatory).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in electrical design for MV/LV systems.
- Strong knowledge of Romanian electrical regulations and grid connection requirements.
- Proficiency in English, including technical terminology.
- Good knowledge of AutoCAD or BricsCAD.
- Ability to prepare and interpret bankable PVsyst reports is considered an advantage.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience in renewable energy projects (PV plants) is considered an advantage.
