Your new role and environment.

Team Content Experience is looking for an experienced QA engineer to help test the applications in their domain, keep the automation up and running and ensure high efficiency in the quality assurance process. Content Experience is responsible for the CMS’able pages on the website and the app, including the homepage of Albert Heijn.

As QA Engineer, you will work with app, frontend web, QA & backend engineers, a Product Owner and Engineering Manager focused on building, maintaining, and optimizing applications and services on a custom-built landscape. This role focuses on improving test automation, improve the quality and performance of software released to PROD and maintain the software owned by the team. You will lead the QA processes, API test automation, web and app test automation next to manual testing for sprint work.

Key responsibilities of your role.

Automation and Tooling:

• Take the lead in setting up a sustainable test automation strategy (manual and automation).
• You bring quality awareness to the table and are dedicated to creating an environment where testing is instinctive for our developers, rather than a mere obligation.
• You know what it takes to increase a higher test coverage and understand the need for test automation.
• You have experience with exploratory testing and can increase confidence in a solid platform.
• Take a hands-on approach in implementing QA processes throughout every step of the software development lifecycle.
• You take (shared) responsibility for the quality of user stories on our backlog.
• Contribute to the QA chapters within our cluster and eager to share experiences and best practices.
• Collaborate to find the best approach with interdependencies on the product between your team and other teams within the customer tech platform.

Collaboration and Communication:

• You raise your voice when necessary and bring your opinion to the table. Assertiveness and a pro-active attitude is a must for this role!
• Solid and proven experience as a Test Engineer both manual as automation of hardware. You ensure quality of the product as a whole.
• You have a good understanding of programming principles, code structure etc. As such you can participate in tech conversations on the same level as programmers.
• Have affinity and knowledge of backend systems and with the integrations that come with it. The team is responsible from end to end, so you need to get the bigger picture.
• Have good interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a complex environment.

Test Execution:

• Execute test cases: perform manual and automated tests according to the sprint plan.
• Discuss and plan bug fixes with development team
• Verify defect fixes: retest software after defects are resolved to ensure they are properly fixed.
• Performance testing: evaluate the performance of software under various load conditions.
• Staying up-to-date with industry best practices: continuously learn and improve testing skills by staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.

Requirements.

We think you’ll be best geared for success if you can meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field
• 6+ years of experience in QA field, with at least 3+ years as an automation QA
• Experience building test automation for executing end-to-end tests using Karate, Playwright, Appium, Cypress or similar framework
• Experience working with API and backend services test automation
• Experience working with Web UI test automation
• Experience working with the stakeholders, product-owner and team to define test-cases, plan and execute in sprints
• Experience coaching engineers for industry standards on API automation, contract-based testing etc.
• Experience on frontend and backend tech stack like react, springboot, Kotlin, azure cloud etc
• Experience as a QA with CMS system Bloomreach would be a plus
