What we are looking for on the role:

A Cloud Engineer with 5+ years of experience building and operating high-scale, high-availability systems. You’ll join a team responsible for the availability and reliability of scalable services and applications that power features for one of the most used safety-focused mobile apps, bringing peace of mind to millions of families. You’ll help build and operate the backend infrastructure for a platform that processes billions of API requests daily, with the ability to scale 10x as needed. You'll be an active contributor in the design and operation of core services, using automation tools wherever possible, and improving them continuously. You should be comfortable dealing with very high traffic volumes and building systems that are resilient, efficient and cloud-agnostic.

With these skills, you are our perfect match:

• Work experience in operations and exposure to software engineering.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• 20% of work focused on AWS services: EC2, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, SNS, Kinesis Data Streams, AWS IoT, Lambda.
• Proficiency in Java (core language), with experience in Go, Python and PHP as a nice to have.
• Experience with Firebase.
• Experience working with Terraform and infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, especially using CircleCI.
• Ideal exposure to JavaScript/React and Node. js used in e-commerce platforms, ops services, web apps, and customer care portals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Strong collaborative mindset with a proactive, hands-on approach how you’ll drive success.
• Engage with product and engineering teams to design, build and maintain highly available systems.
• Manage SLO s and error budgets for critical services.
• Write deployment frameworks, monitors, tracers, and auto-remediation tools to support scale and stability.
• Build and maintain reusable modules for cloud systems automation.
• Manage the network border layer, including CDN, DNS, and Load Balancers.
• Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis across any platform, language or tool.
• Participate in a shared on-call rotation, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
