A typical day might include the following:
- As an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer, you are involved in topics like security, availability, performance, efficiency, change management, (cost) monitoring, emergency response and capacity planning for one or more cloud-native solutions (Azure).
- You continuously improve the infrastructure for better scalability, security and fault tolerance. To do this you create pipelines and scripts for deployment, monitoring, and application management.
- You also enable rapid deployment of new features with the necessary safeguards to maintain stability, high availability, and performance together with your colleagues.
- As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will work closely together with our Cloud Operations and Support team, other Cloud Operations Engineers and Software Engineers of the DevOps teams that are working on our cloud solutions. Currently, we are scaling up with respect to our cloud offering to our customers which will give you the opportunity to explore, learn and grow.
To ensure success in this role, you need the following experience and skills:
- You have relevant working experience.
- You have an IT-related Bachelor's degree.
- You embrace the DevOps culture and automating is your second nature.
- Having experience with the following technologies is a pre-requisite:
- Containerization (e. g. Kubernetes).
- Programming or scripting (e. g. PowerShell).
- Microsoft Azure.
- Familiar with Microsoft tooling (. NET).
- Continuous integration and continuous delivery practices using Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps including ARM templating.
- Ability to work independently, but also in a team.
- Taking ownership is important to you: you are a problem solver and you feel responsible.
- You are curious, creative and enthusiastic about sharing your ideas and know-how.
- Being conscientious and staying abreast of new developments is your cup of tea.
- Willingness to take part in on-call duties to support our customers 24/7 (approx. 8 weeks per year with compensation).
