Job Senior Tax Officer @ Minutizer

Summary:

The Senior Tax Officer we are looking for shall be a critical and strategic thinker, who understands the accounting and fiscal processes, who's willing to make a proper research, connect the dots and proposes solutions. Senior Tax Officer’s role is to take care of the Company's fiscal "wellbeing". She/he will be in charge of taking responsibility for tax issues, as well as assisting the team with fiscal and legal research.

Responsibilities

• Researches, analyses and interprets changing tax legislation in Romania, the Netherlands, Gibraltar, Canada, the UK, the US, as well as other countries;
• Oversees that the accounting entries are made correctly and in a timely manner (for all locations/companies in the group - EU and non-EU based), from the fiscal perspective;
• Communicates with external consultants to identify the best solution for the Company;
• Prepares intercompany reconciliations and reviews intercompany transactions including balance settlements, from the fiscal perspective;
• Is always informed of accounting and fiscal standards changes;
• Has a proactive approach regarding researching relevant areas of interest to management (of accounting, fiscal and legal nature);
• Provides financial and accounting assistance to management in the decision-making process;
• Prepares reports solicited by management and maintains the relationship with the authorities.

Background

• Degree in Finance or Accounting;
• Preferred, but not mandatory: qualified Tax Consultant, ACCA or equivalent;
• 8-10 years of experience in a tax and/or accounting roles;
• Exposure/experience in online marketplaces;
• Prior experience in a tech/software/fintech/Big 4 company will constitute an advantage;
• English fluency, both written and spoken;
• Knowledge, understanding of as well as exposure to international accounting, fiscal and law practices;
• Genuine curiosity of understanding and learning what’s new;
• Problem-solving mindset;
• Critical, strategic and out of the box thinking.
