Job Description

The FAM Startup transition team is part of the ES Financial Account Management (FAM) organization. The charter of the WW FAM Startup Transition team is to set up successfully all financial processes for new outsourcing contracts in line with existing HP Finance policies and procedures. The FAM Startup Transition team works on a project by project basis. Each Transition Analyst gets assigned for a few months to a new outsourcing contract in order to set up the financial processes and then moves on to the next contract. As each outsourcing contract and customer are different the work can be quite different per contract.

Responsibilities

  • Design and set up the financial processes for a new outsourcing contract requires the following:
  • Understand the outsourcing contract (especially the Terms & Conditions that relate to the financial processes)
  • Build a detailed Profit & Loss plan (called Plan Of Record) by country, service line and WBS element (Work Breakdown Structure)
  • Complete Order Acceptance
  • Set up the Financial structure (cost objects, WBS, labor tracking)
  • Identify, document & get approval for accounting treatment of all costs and revenues on the contract and set the financial treatment up in the systems
  • Design/Define/Implement the standard finance processes for MEC & reporting, Flash (including top-down process and bottoms up), Transfer Pricing and Tax approval
  • Document the various processes in the Deal Handbook format
  • Handover the implemented processes to the FAM / Finance Ongoing organization
  • Assist deal management in analyzing changes to and solving issues related to the contract

Education and Experience Required

  • First level university degree with a focus in business or economics; advanced degree or accounting certification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA) preferred.
  • Typically 6+ years of experience as a financial analyst.
  • Typically experienced in more than one finance function.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent knowledge of the Compass application and business procedures
  • Good analytical skills (for problem solving)
  • Good project management skills
  • Can work independently and assume some leadership
  • Ability to work under pressure (customer deadlines)
  • Excellent understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis, with advanced knowledge in one area.
  • Excellent business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel).

  • Strong business acumen
