Engineering Manager (broadcasting company account)
ABOUT THE ROLE
For one of our partners - a provider of end-to-end development services for a wide cross-section of industries (cybersecurity, healthcare, education, financial services, satellite, automotive) - we are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager.
Your main responsibility would be to ensure successful delivery, a clean development process, collect and communicate any information or outstanding events to peers, and report status to the client.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The account is one of the largest American broadcasting companies headquartered in Midtown Manhattan that provides satellite radio and online radio services. They reach more than 150 million listeners across all categories of digital audio – music, sports, talk, and podcasts. Their product comes installed in new vehicles from every major automaker and is available in nearly half of the pre-owned vehicles for sale in the U. S.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Eager to understand client's business and participate in brainstorming sessions;
- Manage the project, methodology ceremonies and assign tasks to engineers;
- Monitor progress against project schedules and budgets, recommends allocation of resources as required to accomplish goals;
- Manage the team delivering on the project in terms of performance, needs, guidance, etc;
- Reviews department objectives for adequacy and consistency with corporate objectives;
- Communicate effectively with customer peers;
- Generates reports to give project status;
- Maintains a close relationship with the client and makes sure he understands their needs;
- Find new ways to grow the engagement;
REQUIREMENTS
Must have experience:
- A solid background in software development (C++ experience would be a plus, as well as a familiarity with the automotive industry);
- Solid account management experience;
- Solid people management experience (performance management, coaching, etc);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences;
Other requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in a management position;
- Ability to give constructive criticism, make decisions quickly;

- Ability to efficiently collaborate within a team and with multiple technical teams and stakeholders, demonstrating a positive attitude and assertive communication skills;
